Jeff Holland: Riding baby elephants at Patuxent Research Refuge

A while back, I wrote about a "pocket wilderness" of less than 100 acres tucked in between housing developments in Arnold. The Patuxent Research Refuge, it turns out, is a wilderness of 12,841 acres tucked in between Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, just south of Fort George G. Meade. And we had much of it all to ourselves, in all its spring beauty.
