Dr. Mario World Introduces Dr Baby Wario And We're Not Sure If He's Cute Or Not

Gambar
Dr. Mario World, the mobile spin-off of Nintendo's puzzle series, has debuted a new character, and it's a curious one. From June 26 at 3 AM PT, Dr Baby Wario will arrive in the game, and will be available to use as a character. The little guy, pictured in the tweet below, might or might not be cute depending on whether or not you can deal with his two enormous walls of teeth. Baby Wario previously appeared in Yoshi's Island DS, and in the 14 years since he has seemingly earned a medical degree. While his incarnation in that game wore just a diaper, this time he's fully dressed with a doctor's coat and tie. They grow up so fast. Dr. Mario World has been the least profitable of Nintendo's mobile games, and it's unlikely that Dr. Baby Wario can turn the results around. With Nintendo potentially looking to move away from mobile development, hopefully the good (baby) doctor will be able to find other work eventually. If

Role-play shows which expectant dads will thrive as new fathers

Gambar
A five-minute role-play done with men before the birth of their first child predicted the quality of their parenting after the baby arrived, a new study showed. Researchers videotaped 182 expectant fathers during the third trimester of their partners' pregnancy, observing how the men interacted with a doll that they were told represented the baby they were about to have. Ratings given to the fathers on their levels of "intuitive parenting" while playing with the doll predicted how well they were rated on parenting quality nine months after their baby was born. "We were able to detect the capacity for positive parenting in these men before they even became fathers," said lead study author Lauren Altenburger, who began the work as a doctoral student at The Ohio State University. Altenburger is now an assistant professor of human development and family studies at Pennsylvania State University-Shenango, where the study was completed. The intuitive parentin

Baby Pools Are Selling Out But This Splash Pad Will Keep My Kid Cool All Summer

Lauren Ro is interested in baby gear (she's a new mom) and the ins-and-outs of decorating a home. Prior to the Strategist, she was a writer at Curbed, and before that was Wes Anderson's assistant. Photo: Lauren Ro With local beaches and public pools closed and temperatures steadily climbing, we needed another warm-weather activity that would keep our toddler cool this summer. The kiddie pool we had our eye on was sold out (as were a bunch of others; it seemed that a lot of parents were desperate too), so we decided to try this highly reviewed splash pad we came across on Amazon. For $24, it was worth a shot, and ready to ship immediately.

Father's Day Delight: Hugo Dellien Finally Meets Baby Mila

Editor's Note: Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, Bolivia's Hugo Dellien waited almost two months before meeting his baby daughter in Paraguay. He blogged about the experience for ATPTour.com during the agonising wait. The image above with his wife and daughter was provided to us on 20 June, four days after the family came together for the first time. Because of COVID-19 travel restrictions, I haven't been able to see my wife, Camila, since March, or our newborn daughter, Mila, who was born on 25 April. But at long last, I'll soon get to see Camila and hold my daughter for the first time. We had to appeal through the Bolivian Foreign Ministry and the Paraguayan government agreed to let me in since Camila is from there and our marriage took place in Paraguay. I'll travel from my hometown of Trinidad to Santa Cruz and then to Paraguay. I'll first have to be in quarantine for two weeks, but it'll be an incredible thing to then be able to see my

Deputy 'promoted' to godfather 1 year after saving baby's life

Gambar
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. — He was hailed a hero for saving a 12-day-old baby from choking. Now, a year later, he's been "promoted" to godfather.  Berkeley County Deputy William Kimbro saved little Ryleigh's life after he pulled her mother over for speeding. The reason she was speeding? Little Ryleigh was choking.  Bodycam video posted by the department a year ago showed Kimbro feeling for Ryleigh's pulse before he started massaging the baby's chest. He lifted her neck and put his finger in her mouth to try and open her airway. Eventually, she started to cry when she could breathe again.  WCIV reporter Scott Eisberg caught up with the deputy after he was surprised by Ryleigh and her family asking him and his wife to be her godfather. 'I dropped my phone on my baby's head'

Gambar
It is early evening and a summer optimism drifts on the breeze. family is whooping and flying a kite on the beach. An elderly couple walk by, arm-in-arm. Everyone is courteous and maintaining a social distance all the while still smiling fondly at one another. It is idyllic as hell out here under the wispy white clouds. A young mother is pushing a pram across the seafront. The tiny baby inside gurgles. New life! She is stooping to peer at the baby; to whisper sweet nothings perhaps? But wait. No. What's that balanced on the pram? A phone, playing Netflix. And concealed in her hair? A pair of bluetooth headphones. How do I know all this? This vivacious young mother is me. Watching a show about internet addiction called Follow This, as research for this very piece.
